Erika Lyons
Music Therapist

My passion for Music Therapy comes from a lifelong love of music. Through further study I have developed a deeper understanding of the profound ways in which music impacts on our whole being. I am a conscientious, dedicated and empathic music therapist. I approach my work with professionalism and integrity, facilitating therapeutic change.

I have a Masters degree in Music Therapy from the University
of the West of England and  a Batchelor of  Humanities in Communication Studies from the University of London.
I have statutory registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (www.hcpc-uk.org.uk/) and I am a member
of the British Association for Music Therapy (www.bamt.org/). Membership of both organisations require that practice is
carefully regulated.

As a mother of four children, living in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside, I have learned to listen and develop my intuition.
I am a professional double bassist performing internationally and in the UK with world renowned musicians.
For the past ten years I have been working in a Herefordshire primary school teaching classroom music and working with children with special needs.
I am particularly interested in working with young people and families.

I have a well-established yoga practice which clarifies my thinking and develops my self-awareness at all levels.
I also love to be outdoors, walking or tending my garden.
